It seems like the Phillies have their first new addition of the offseason. Utility man Eric Bruntlett has been replaced by 37-Year old Utility Man Juan Castro.
This deal came out of virtually no where. The Phillies were first linked to Castro at around noon. At 1, they were the frontrunners, and by 4, he appearently signed with the defending NL Champs.
So far only minor details about the contract are known. It is a 1 year deal, worth less than a million, and there is a club option for 2011. No word on any incentives.
The deal is pending a physical, which is not expected to occur until next week, since Castro is on vacation.
Bruntlett is out, Castro is in. This is the first of the Phillies moves this offseason. What will they do next?
